Whitehaven is the largest neighborhood in South Memphis and is roughly bounded by Winchester Road on the north and the Mississippi state line on the south, with the Illinois Central Railroad on the west and Airways Boulevard on the east. Whitehaven is a predominantly African-American community with a current population of about 50,000.

MDA has successfully purchased a nexus of buildings in Whitehaven with the stated purpose of establishing a modern day kulliye for the benefit of the residents in the vicinity and throughout the city.

Islamic Medicinal Advises
You’ll have to know that the origin of all maladies goes back to nutrition, as the Prophet Muhammad – God bless him! – says with regard to the entire medical tradition, as commonly known by all physicians… These are his words: “The stomach is the House of Illness, and abstinence is the most important medicine. The cause of every illness is a poor digestion.

Training
Our Roots
We have been located in the Oakhaven and Whitehaven communities for over 15 years. We have provided ESL classes, lectures/classes about the Islamic faith, African American history and the Renaissance, along with releasing press releases on violent extremism. It is our objective to continue providing, building and extending those types of services.

We are confident that the best method for countering the dangers of extremism and radicalization is education. Extremist ideology is rooted in the teachings of a few radical thinkers. Exposing these people and their ideas and demonstrating their non-compliance with genuine Islamic teachings is not difficult. And with this knowledge, we hope to inoculate Muslims from the influences of those who seek to propagate aberrant ideologies in the name of Islam.
